Scholarship Overview
Funding is available for a complete Master's degree (full-time, on-campus) at a state or state-recognised university in Germany in the STEM subjects of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and engineering.
Interdisciplinary degree programmes must have a designated STEM focus.
It must be a tuition-free Master's degree programme.
Funding for a Master's programme already started in Germany cannot be granted.

Under certain circumstances, you can apply for the following additional benefits after start of funding:
- Monthly rent subsidy
- Monthly allowance for accompanying members of family.
- In case of a disability or chronic illness: on application, a subsidy may be provided for justified additional costs incurred abroad that are necessary to realise the project in Germany and that are not covered by a third party; whether and to what extent a subsidy will be paid will be reviewed and determined on an individual basis
- Reimbursement of carbon offset payments for air trave

UNESCO defines higher education as a rich cultural and scientific asset that enables personal development and promotes economic, technological, and social change

Bachelor’s: Based on international qualification frameworks, a Bachelor’s or equivalent level is for learners with intermediate academic or professional knowledge, skills, and competencies. Commonly, programmemes from this level include theory-based, practical components and are informed by state-of-the-art research and/or best professional practice. Typically, programmemes are provided by universities and equivalent tertiary education institutions.
Master’s or equivalent level: According to international higher education standards, Master’s or equivalent level programmemes are designed for learners with in-depth academic and/or professional knowledge, skills, and competencies. These programmemes may consist of work-based components. Upon successful completion, graduates acquire vocational qualifications recognised by national authorities and/or the labour market.
Course: Refers to non-degree short education programmemes.
Double Degree: Refers to programmemes in which participants will obtain two degree certificates from two universities.
