Job Description
An officer who evaluates and monitors health and safety hazards and develops strategies to control risks in the workplace. He or she inspects restaurants, public facilities, industrial plants, municipal water systems, and other workplaces to ensure compliance with government regulations regarding sanitation, pollution control, handling and storage of hazardous substances, and workplace safety. This officer is employed in all private and public sectors.
